Disposable gloves for every situation

Are you buying disposable gloves for a hospital, institution or business?

You are in the right place!

We make securing them as easy as possible.

Disposable gloves have been around for decades, but in recent times even non-professionals have taken an interest. COVID‘s rampage across the globe has made the need to have quality gloves to keep you and your patients safe even more apparent.

We have many different types of protective gloves in our selection. These include innovative TPE and Vitrile® gloves and more traditional latex and nitrile gloves.

There are a few things to note before making a purchase, which applies to all materials.

If you’ve ever used plastic gloves when cooking in the kitchen, you know the struggles of trying to get it on. Gloves combat this problem by undergoing polymer coating or chlorination. In the polymer coating process, a layer of polymer is spread along its surface. When it’s chlorinated, it’s exposed to chlorine to give the glove a firmer feel and a slicker surface.

Another important thing is the size of the gloves. For the most part, the onus is on an employer to ensure that their employees have access to the best types of gloves for the task. No matter what type of glove is appropriate, unless these gloves fit employees’ hands properly, they won’t provide the right levels of protection needed. This is, of course, why many employers strive to keep a number of different-sized gloves in stock to account for the fact that no two people have hands of the same exact size and shape.

While it may seem like common sense when it comes to ensuring you’re wearing gloves of the proper size, it does bear pointing out exactly what the dangers are when it comes to incorrect glove sizing. First and foremost, trying to wear gloves that are either too small for your hands or too large for them can result in making it difficult to complete necessary tasks while wearing them. More importantly, though, you could end up injuring your hands as well.

Gloves that are too small are simply uncomfortable to wear, as they can compromise dexterity and cause hand fatigue. Rips or tears to the glove itself become more common if the material of the glove is being stretched beyond its capabilities, exposing you to hazards. Meanwhile, gloves that are too big for your hands can be caught on tools, machinery, or any other hazards, resulting in either the glove being pulled off completely or causing your hand to become lodged in an unsafe and dangerous place.

Take a look at our wide selection of disposable gloves and you will surely find the right type and size!

TPE

Disposable TPE gloves are also called Thermoplastic Elastomer gloves. Good tensile strength and better elongation are their most valuable characteristics. TPE gloves feel soft, strong and fit hands well. Some TPE gloves may feel slippery on the surface, especially in wet kitchens and labs. In contrast, when making sticky foods like cakes, noodles or bread, non-stick gloves are very helpful for many workers.

TPE gloves have had a minimal influence on the overall glove industry before 2020, or to be exact, before COVID-19. Since they are less common, not many users have thought about switching their PVC or other standard gloves to TPE. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, however, there has been an increase in demand. TPE gloves are thinner than vinyl gloves, which makes manufacturing and disposal more energy efficient. The production of TPE gloves does not use plasticization either, making them increasingly helpful to the environment.

As the COVID-19 virus persists, more and more people are learning about affordable TPE gloves and starting to replace their old PVC, vinyl and nitrile gloves with TPE. If this trend continues, it will promote further development of TPE gloves and the TPE material industry in general.

Latex

In the past, the majority of industries that use gloves preferred latex gloves. This is due to it being recommended as the optimal glove to protect medical professionals from pathogens such as HIV. Latex gloves offer high flexibility, comfort, and protection.  It should be noted that latex gloves use natural rubber, so they have been a popular disposable choice since their inception, in addition to their elasticity and protective qualities. Latex gloves are thin and yet fit tightly on the hand, making them easy to wear and offering a high degree of dexterity.

Latex gloves are still one of the most popular glove varieties available on the market, despite other great options such as vinyl and nitrile making headway, particularly in commercial and industrial applications. The physical properties of natural rubber latex make disposable latex gloves extremely elastic and resistant to tearing, whilst also offering protection against a range of hazards, including biohazards such as pathogens (including bacteria and viruses), and certain chemicals.

Many users consider disposable latex gloves to be the most comfortable disposable glove material available, and thanks to their snug fit and ‘second skin’ feel, they allow users to perform intricate tasks which require a high degree of touch sensitivity. As they are made from a naturally occurring material, latex gloves are also more easily biodegradable than their synthetic glove counterparts, which makes them a preferred choice for some users. These factors mean that disposable latex gloves are extremely versatile and can be used across a broad range of applications throughout a number of industries.

Many disposable latex glove manufacturers offer both powdered and powder-free latex glove varieties, and each has its merits. Powder is often added to the inner coating of disposable latex gloves to make them easier to don and remove. This powder can also help limit and absorb perspiration, making the gloves more comfortable to wear, especially for extended periods of time.

However, powdered gloves can increase the risks of contamination due to their powder particles, and are also the primary source of airborne allergenic material in the workplace. In some instances, powdered gloves can also cause irritation for users. For these reasons, powder-free latex gloves are often preferred in workplaces such as hospitals, laboratories, in painting applications, and in manufacturing environments.

Nitrile

Nitrile gloves come with a good reputation and for good reasons.

If you work in an industry that requires the use of gloves and other protective equipment, you should always make sure you or your customers aren’t allergic to them. For example, in the US, one percent of the population suffers from latex allergies, but is it worth the risk if you’re a nurse or a tattoo artist? Also note that the highest number of allergic reactions have been in children. For allergies, nitrile gloves are the best alternative.

Let’s assume that you don’t work with people directly but with chemicals. Nitrile gloves are an ideal choice because of their durability and resistance to hazardous and corrosive chemicals compared to their counterparts.

Nitrile gloves typically have a five-year shelf life compared to the three years that latex gloves have.

In fact, nitrile has often become the first choice for many professionals throughout the globe. Nitrile gloves are often used in the following ways, though this is certainly not a complete list:

The medical industry loves this material, as it provides great protection against contamination and better durability than latex.

Scientists handling caustic or dangerous materials rely on these gloves to ensure they have enough dexterity to handle samples safely.

Tattoo artists and body piercers use these gloves to keep their customers safe and healthy while performing body modifications.

Food service professionals use nitrile gloves as the material can be made food-safe, making these gloves an excellent choice for preparing, handling, and serving food.

Hairdressers often wear these gloves while dyeing or treating customers’ hair to protect themselves from hair chemicals and to provide a sterile environment for their customers.

Auto mechanics and other tradesmen use nitrile gloves to protect themselves from grease, oil, and other related damage while working on engines, transmissions, and other components.

While Carpenters and construction workers don’t use disposable nitrile gloves very often, many wear cloth or canvas safety gloves coated in nitrile to provide an extra layer of protection and grip while on the job.

Nitrile gloves are indeed biodegradable, just like their traditional latex cousin. This process does take longer than natural latex, however, due to the synthetic nature of nitrile latex.
